Although the park is a peaceful oasis in the countryside, it is still only a short distance from the historic City of York and its host of visitor attractions, especially in December and at Christmas!!!

Monks Cross Park & Ride is close to the lodge and is situated approximately 2 miles north-east of York, close to the junction of the A1237 (York northern ring road) and the A64 (Leeds-Scarborough road)
